Declaration of Independence

This is a painting about the day that the Declaration of Independence was presented to the congress for signing. The U.S. Declaration of Independence was officially adopted a few days later on July 4, 1776, but not signed until August 2, 1776. Because of the signers’ bravery, we are the “land of the free and home of the brave”.
This is one of many paintings by John Trumbull (1756–1843).
